The reason In's and mine didn't come with a stand or document is because they're refurbished units. It does say on the auction description that you get the router and a power supply only.

The only fault with mine is a dodgy ethernet LED, but the actual router is working brilliantly, and I'm sure I'll get it sorted with DigiDave in the new year. I'm really happy with the performance of this router and won't be going back to the SpeedTouch.

In: I'm sure you're not stupid, but just to let you know it takes about a minute to boot. Set Windows to obtain and IP automatically, then your web browser should automatically bring the setup page up when it tries to go to a website. Or have you tried this already?

Done all of that Seb, I realised that it was going through the boot up procedure, as I said earlier, I have had no problems with a BT Voyager, a Talk Talk ( which I managed to revert back to Philips Software ) and my Zyxel.

Just reckon that I have a dud Seb.

Whilst I agree that it did say that we would only get a router and power supply, it does show the 2700 in the upright position, so I assumed that a stand would be included.

I will ask for a refund after the holiday.

OK, I had anther play with it last night, I even managed to download the recovery software ( as mentioned at " The Scream " ).

That at least allowed me to enter the correct 20 digit code as per DodgyDaves Instructions. I set it up exactly as the post in the other 2700 thread from Lance, still it will not connect.

Now there is one thing puzzling me, I enter my IDNet details, together with my 6 digit IDnet Password, it goes through it's attempt to connect, then comes up with the no connection page, I go back to the previous page and the " details " page is there however it shows up as 8 ********, not 6 ******, so could this possibly mean that it will not accept a 6 digit password?

Anybody else use a less than 8 digit IDNet password ?? is basically what I would like to know.

Cant help you there, mine is an 8 digit password Inactive, so yours is an sbc firmware box then, Rik has his working fine I would ask him $:-\$ sorry I cant help more on this

Early today i was getting a 3000 sync on the old ST330 USB modem - why the drop to only 608 ?

Also can no longer run a BT speedtest getting the following error.

I use an eight-character password, In, but I'd guess that the router displays 8 asterisks regardless.

It's the entry of the 20-digit number which is puzzling me, I didn't have to do that, and I'm wondering why you do. What firmware version do you have?

Output power seems a little low, nothing significant, but you have a 15db noise margin from the look of things. Did you have problems connecting - that would normally be triggered by instability.

This is often a false error message generated by the system when it's busy. However, how have you set the firewall up?

Hi Mike

I can't explain the noise margin, then, but that is hitting the speed.

Unfortunately, it takes 14 days with a stable connection to drop the target by 3db, then the process repeats until you get back to 6db, or the system decides that your line is going as fast as it can.

The firewall shouldn't be a problem on the default, though you may want to go into advanced settings and turn on stealth mode and block pings.

default as not in stealth and not blocking pings, if so you want to change that so you are stealthed and are blocking pings.......what Rik said

I did that as well Rik, I put in PPPoA 0/35, cos that is what it says on my IDNet Documentation, I set RWIN to 1500 as per the post from Lance.

Also 'pulled' the telephone lead and reconnected - sync has increased to 640kbs.

are your settings sticking or do you get a warning wrong password here http://home/xslt on this page? try putting your idnet settings in then type javascript:document.pagepost.submit() into the browser address bar and press the enter key. This will save the info. then reboot the router.
