The only meter that I have is out in the garage, some geezer comes and looks at it every 3 months or so.

Sounds about the same as mine Mike, mine has " Made in China " on it, but I guess that is the norm these days.

My new 2700 arrived today. I was glad to see that it was actually identical to what I have now, i.e. a 2700HG-B, and it's 2Wire branded, not AT&T. It's in immaculate condition, just like my last, so a big thanks to DD.

I haven't tried it yet, and to be honest I'm in no rush to. My current 2Wire has now been sync'd for over 14 days and I'm wondering whether to force a resync and see if my target SNRM has dropped.

I didn't get a new power supply with the new one. My current one looks very much like a mobile phone charger!

That sounds very much like the one that I have Seb, so that puts that theory to rest.

I just rebooted my 2700, having been sync'd for 14 days and 14 hours, and have resync'd at 15dB.

I can do, but it won't make any difference. I think I'll give IDNet a call or send them an email and see if they can get BT to reset my target margin. It's ridiculous that on a stable line I should be stuck at 15dB for the rest of my life!

I am proof that BT will reset your nm. I called Enta last week as my NM was on 12db . One very quick call later and my NM had dropped to 6db. This took all of 30 min.

I'm emailed IDNet and asked if they can get it reset. I don't fancy any more of this 14 days nonsense that clearly doesn't always work!

I'll check mine when I get home, but I don't remember it being "hefty" at all. Perhaps I have a generic one. Either way, I'm not bothered as long as it works.

Guess I need to wait for the noise to drop in order for the sync to increase - 14 days is it ? Or is it worth an e-mail to Idnet to get them to ask BT to reset ? Or even a manual re-sync  at a better time of day ?

New box is a 2Wire badged version made in Malaysia - the slow sync'ing working one was AT&T made in China. Could this be a factor ?
