It's an interesting point as to who funds the hits on the albums, Colin, I'm guessing it's IDNet and the people who browse. Let's hope they don't find it's more expensive than they bargained for. :)

Sounds like it, Phil. Let me know if it happens again and I'll raise it with IDNet (or drop them an email yourself). I can now get in to my gallery space again, so maybe something odd happened?

Hi Rik, just noticed it had appeared on the gallery page again. I did the same as before and the hidden option was still checked, I clicked save and again it disappeared from the gallery page, very strange! I've emailed support.

Rik

Thanks, Phil. :) I've published a list of file formats supported in the other thread, if you haven't seen it already.

You set it up from your accounts page, and it will then give you the URL for your album. Look for the option in the left-hand column.

Once you account is activated (but before you are actually migrated), you will be able to set up email, web space, blog space and the gallery. I think, however, that you won't be able to upload to the web space etc until you have migrated, but the email will work immediately.

I really like the gallery, and even though I only get migrated tomorrow I already have some pics on the site.

THe options for the gallery allow some customizable options to change the look of things and even setup albums as hidden or password protected.

I havnt tried many of the settings, but I think I will use them.

I love the amount of server space which an be configured between the web service and the photos
I have set mine to a massive 1.5GB for photos and .5 for web.  A nice feature to allow potentially 2GB of photos online, and secure.

Just another hint that may be of use, If you use firefox to look after the photos and the login, why not also use internet explorer to check it all works, as it doesnt have the password saved it will see the files as a general user.  I found it useful anyway.

Also, great pics!  I particularly like the one of Catlerigg Stone Circle - are these your own, Bob, and, if so, can I have that one for my desktop?  :)

Thanks for the comments on the pictures, yep they are mine and please feel free to take a copy if you wish.

The beauty of digital photography, take 100 pictures, and a few of them will look half decent. ;D

Has anybody managed to get the videos working.

The tool lets you import them and creates a thumbnail, and even knows that it has to open in an application (windows media play, embedded into the explorer window)  but it doesn't seem to work

I cant get it to work :(

Anybody else tried short movie clips with any success?

Lance

Could it be that the video is mp4 format, which media player doesn't support without installation of an additional codec?

Yep. I had to do them as wmv files, though, so I could get them below the 80MB limit.

Rik

Ray (SheltieUK) has also uploaded movie clips successfully.
