El Reg is reporting that "Researchers from Google and a well-known security firm have documented serious vulnerabilities in Adobe Flash content which leave tens of thousands of websites susceptible to attacks that steal the personal details of visitors."

Worrying, we can't do anything to protect ourselves, it's down to the sites and Adobe. :(

I saw this the other day Rik, we can just go for plain vanilla internet, with no flash no java and that is safer, but so dull, I just think we have reached a point where its almost impossible to stay patched as there are vulnerabilities constantly rearing their heads, maybe in a few years the net will be the haunt of the brave as opposed to the masses at this rate :-\
Damned, if you do damned if you don't

Rik

In which case, it will have gone full circle, Gary. It troubles me that this is an area where we can do little to protect ourselves. :(

I agree it is virtually impossible and now with web 2 sites popping up left right and centre like the new bbc beta its getting worse, like all good things they come to an end, unless someone can stick a cleaner worm in the net to flush out all vulnerabilities I think its possible we may go full circle, I read all my mail in plain text out of safety, its not a great place to be right now unless you are a hacker or a crook or an organised crime ring  :'(

I don't find it quite so bleak, Gary, but I do think that we increasingly need to consider what we do and where we go on the web.
