You may find OpenDNS useful in a situation like this, if you register you can block by domain, set blocking for adult websites, and setup shortcuts to commonly used websites. ;)
Yep, great suggestion. This is exactly what we do.  :)

That's what happens when you go back to work and have to wait until lunch to catch up on threads. Bring on retirement I say. Only about 40 years to go.

Ted

I'm sure you will have no problems. This site contains all the info you need to set up a 2700hgv.

I have similar stat's to you save for a high noise margin (see bottom of page 18 on the idiots guide thread) - what chance's do you think I've got of such a high sync rate once my margin has been reset ?

Just had reply back from IDnet customer services -

Your line is at the moment performing above what BT would expect out of your phone line. We are only ever able to request such action from BT if there is something very wrong with the service or if a customer has experienced a fault that has had an impact on the SNR margin.

Kind regards

Looks like I'm stuck with the high noise margin then.

Rik

You could ask them to start the training period over, it looks to me like you've inherited a low MSR/FTR from your previous connection.

Before i would sync anywhere from 5000kbps+ at 3-6 snr and 7800kbps+ at 0-5 snr

I could never tell my true SNR as it was always all over the place.

Wow that was quick service... ;)

Sure was  :)

Rik

A significant improvement, then as it's going full rate with some room to spare, hence the 7db noise margin. Another 2700 success story. :)

Thanks - I'll ask them nicely.

Based on your attenuation, Mike, that would seem to be the way forward - however, it may be that the target noise margin does need to be 15db, though hopefully that's not the case.

No luck.

The line from you old connection will be the same so inheriting the MSR/FTR information will be correct as the BT phone line is the same line being used at the end of the day. Resetting in this instance will only result in the same figures being produced. The line is performing better than expected at the moment.

Ahh well - just have to see what happens after the 14 day period - hopefully I will be a drop.
