Got mine setup.
Stats here

Great stuff. It looks like the Netgear was to blame, which I suspected. See how you get on, but I'm sure it'll be fine. The 2Wire is the most rock solid router I've ever seen!  :)

Can't argue with a service like that. Seems to be doing a top job on that line as well, looking at the stats. ;D

Some people only paid £15! And the last two after me only paid 50p more! I suspect there is some discrimination going on... ;D

I did pay full price  :P

If yours anything like mine then its easy to setup..
My advice to you is to use this link :- http://bt2700hgv.tripod.com/ir1002700HGVeditingRealms.htm

You have to use the javascript get around if its the same one as mine.. All explained in the above link.

Mine was up and running in 5 mins.

I've been led in bed all day (got cold/flu/sickness bug) messing around with settings etc, wireless is better than my netgear one and my laptop seems to connect to it much quicker.

I've always found my Netgear wireless to be pretty poor, so better wireless will be a welcome enhancement. :)

Seriously though, the wireless output of the dual ssid versions are not adjustable through the interface as with the SBC firmware. Its there, just not accessible. However, its possible to reinstate this feature by "hacking" the firmware.
Also expect the firmware to auto upgrade shortly after connection even with the poison in place (go figure). This appears to have no impact on the routers performance.
Another small thing, these seem to take a long time to boot, so don't be alarmed if when you plug it in nothing happens for a minute or two.

Ted

Really? Mine was quicker than my Netgear.. Plug it into the mains, couple secs later broadband and internet lite was on.

Ted

interesting, the two i've set up both took ages to boot or reboot. I'll have to try paying the elec bill earlier ;D

Sebby

Mine takes a while to boot. Probably about the same time as my SpeedTouch 585v6. I don't see it as a long time, but compared with a Netgear, for example, it's slow.

Ted

i only see it as a long time comparing it to Netgear or Linksys, which were both a lot quicker.

I'll probably end up hacking it in any way possible anyway. :P

I don't mind it updating so long as it doesn't start overwriting settings! Do you think it'd be possible to stop it by setting the DNS to 0.0.0.0 then manually configuring the computers? Or maybe it uses IP address.  :-\

I'm pretty impatient and I find my Netgear takes too long to boot (about 20-30seconds ;D) so I'll have to hold back on the kicking. ;)

Thanks for the advice and the eBay link, Ted. You've been a great help.  :karmic:
