You'll need your IDNet login (whatever@uk.idnet.dsl4), and it will also tell you your BRAS profile.

Note- this one runs through IDNet, it's not the ISP-independant one. It also seems very busy or something at the moment (maybe it's still being tested), so you may need to keep trying...

I entered phone no, then it went to "checking user details" then ....

I got that last night but got a different test error message this morning saying the tester was busy. It still didn't get beyond checking my details with my ISP though.

Anyone got it to work?

Just managed to complete the test. My details were accurate and the profile info is handy.

Danni

Been trying for a couple of hours now, getting various error messages. the most recent one is this:

Performance Tester is unavailable at the current time

Apologies, but the performance tester application is currently down for urgent maintenance. Please try again later.

I guess I'll have to do as it says :P

Not surprised it's down. It's been coming up with some weird results like this -

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 3500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 500 kbps(UP-STREAM) 1000 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2802 kbps

Spot the mistake.

These are not my results by the way.  8)

What do you think your download thoroughput speed should be?

I'd suggest you try it again if you think it's wrong as it's been coming up with some weird results, although mine were spot on.

I did a couple of times last night, and it worked for me:-

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6683 kbps

Which also agrees with http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/re...364320&v=438042. :)

BassoProfundo

Worked well for me too  :)

IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
    DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)  8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6365 kbps

... and also agrees with BBMax speedtest:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 6358 kbps (794.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 373 kbps (46.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Nice one guys, thanks.

Test complete notification not processed successfully.

still not working for me ???

Danni

Press the back button and resubmit- it took a few tries for me to get it working properly.

Now I can't remember my results, and I'm using the connection too much to get realistic results.

I've been trying for thelast few days with no love. This is what I get:

It does not matter how many times I try, I always get the same error.

jimc

yeh
same here has never worked for me

Performance Tester was not able to find all the network details required for telephone number   ::)

mrapoc

I used to get that till i changed the firmware of my router and turned dmz mode on

jimc

tried it with 2 different routers so doubt its that ???

Rik

As much as anything, it seems to be time. I've only ever got past the 'checking' phase between 1 and 7am.

Nerval

Usually works for me, though occasionally gives spurious errors like saying I've got the phone number wrong, and occasionally says it's too busy.

Linc

Bet its a good Test.................if it worked!!!
