Well I have my Mac code. Now my reseller has given me two choices if I want to stay with them. IDnet 30 gig for £25.00 pm or Griffin internet 50 gig for £27.00 pm. Or I could go to UK Online be tied in to a 12 month contract but have unlimited downloads and slightly better speeds. However not sure what the C/S is like.

You have the experience, you pay the bill, it is your choice.  Myself I have never had to so good!
Nothing is perfect, not even my ignorance!

Who's providing support on the IDNet connection Bill?

Support will be from both vivaciti and and Idnet. To be fair the person I spoke to this morning at vivaciti did think that Idnet would suit be better. Just want to settle down with one provider now as my line has been sorted out. What would suit me down to the ground and there do not seem to be any ISPs who do this (IDNET TAKE NOTE) is a package for around £20.00 pm for about 15-20 gig. Have never used 30 gig of data but always use more then 8 gig.

Rik

I don't think the economics are right for that size of package, Bill, but there's been some demand here of late for a 10GB package for around the £20 mark.

£2 for an extra 5GB? I think we'll be lucky!

Rik

I agree, Colin, but there's been interest expressed. OTOH, a year ago we went from 2GB to 5GB for no extra charge...

Glenn

There maybe room for such a package once the BT Wholesale price cuts take effect on the Cental pipes

Indeed, Glenn, though I did hear that Tim was earmarking that for a luxury holiday. ;)

Well, IDNet are certainly a good ISP to settle down with, unless you're the kind of person that likes moving around. I can't comment on the other ISPs that you've mentioned, but you can get an idea of what they're like by browsing the Think Broadband forums. :)

So, what have you decided to do then, Bill? :)

I can't understand how someone finds Idnet and then wants to go somewhere else.  :conf: But good luck Bill what ever you decide.

Well having looked round the various forums, IDnet do seem to have a very happy lot of customers. Down to the final choice of 2. IDnet or NewNet. Have not heard any thing about NewNet but their pricing is good. Good thing is that if I change to IDnet using  vivaciti they will refund this months Enta charge which I have just paid.

Rik

Newnet are good, Bill, and were on my shortlist when I came to IDNet.

Well I have made my choice. I needed a ISP with great speeds and good C/S so I chose.
