Removal of account password in Vista Home Premium

I bought a new Compaq lappy for HID (her indoors) and sadly it came with Vista.
Setting up accounts as per XP her account requires her to enter a password and mine does not.
I'm still feeling my way around Vista, but can anybody tell me if there's a way to remove the password on her account and still have the two separate accounts as on my other XP desktop?

I'm not into Vista, but I'm sure one of the Vistal Virgins will be along shortly. :)

I'm sure there is, in User Accounts, Steven, but I'm on my XP desktop at the moment, and can't elaborate right now.  It's in that section anyway, something to do with log on options, I think.  If you don't suss it out, I'll be in later with more details, but I expect someone else will beat me to it during the day.  :)

In Control Panel -> User Accounts the second option down says "Remove your Password".

I haven't tried it personally as I want a password but it might do what it says on the tin. Let us know...?

EDIT: Except I'm on Vista Ultimate, so your options may not be the same...

Vista 'Business' says "Manage your network passwords".  Where you can add places/applications etc where you can be logged-on automatically.  Don't know about the desktop tho'.

Mine is set up with me as the only user, so I can't check it, but it appears that only 'administrator accounts' are password free.  'user accounts' and 'guest accounts' are asked for the password before being allowed to make some changes.  The password is there so that if an administrator is using a 'user account' (safer), they don't have to come out of the user account, and log-on again to the administrator a/c, make the changes, and go back again!!

Hope I haven't  :conf: everybody.

I'm confused, i think. You want an account without a password?

Click on start, right click on 'computer' and go to manage. On the left hand side select 'Local users and computers' then 'Users' - right click on the user, select set password and click on proceed. type nothing and click OK.

It worked when i did it a few weeks ago on a work mates vista machine. They've only got to click on there name now to get access.
