Using Speedtest.net my speeds are 3941 and 357.
However the 2700 reports:
DSL         Down         Up
Current Rate:       5824 kbs       448 kbs
Max Rate:       5824 kbs       1060 kbs
Current Connection:
Current Noise Margin:       12.0 dB       24.0 dB
Current Attenuation:       39.1 dB       21.5 dB
Current Output Power:       19.8 dBm       12.2 dBm

Why the quite large discrepancy between actual speed, Current rate and Max rate please?

The current rate is your sync speed. The Max rate is what the router thinks it can achieve on your line, note that it's the upstream rate which increases, if you moved to Home Supermax you'd be getting close to that figure.

The speed test is just an indication, it's low for your sync speed, so try a BT test to see if your profile is correct.

Thanks Rik, maybe one day I will be able to get into a BT speed test, not managed yet.  and do not intend to sit up into the small hours to do so!  :(

Hm, I actually managed to get to the point of entering my log in name with the BT test, I thought it was the logon user name given to me by IDNet when I joined, but it rejected that as invalid.  What log in name do I need please, not the actual name, of course, but where I source it?

It's the login name you use to access the service, found in your router or on your accounts page - Broadband Settings. :)

That is what I assumed, and thought I had used. I'll try again, when I can get in!  :(

Sometimes it reports an error with the username rather than admit it's busy. ;)

Fine, tried again, log in accepted, said started testing.  After almost an hour still testing, test one, no progress on the bar.  Gave up, how long does the test usually take, was I being impatient?

It usually takes about 2-3 minutes after telling you your profile.
