Not able to view my website

Hi

Don't know if anyone can help me with this one but here go's, I joined IDnet Fri 22 Feb and everything is fine apart from one small problem I have a genealogy website hosted by eukhost called pikefamilytree.co.uk now since this Friday 22 Feb I have not been able to view my website but it seems everyone else can, I have purged just about everything I can think of on my PC but still no joy internet explorer keeps telling it cannot connect to site, anyone got any ideas?

Who's hosting the site, David? I get a server not found error.

Try changing your router to use the OpenDNS servers, 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220. If that then works, drop IDNet an email and let them know, they can check their DNS servers.

I can ping the site, btw:

As a matter of interest I have an old BT Voyager 105 I now its old but it works perfect so why change it.

Rik, something really strange here because I have just clicked the link you have posted to my website and guess what it connected? Strange or what.

What. :) When I did a cut and paste from your post, the site did not work. Once I had done the ping & tracert, I clicked the hyperlink in my post and it worked.

It may just be that the server was down and happened to come back up as we were posting...

If the problem persists, try flushing your DNS cache:

Start > Run > CMD <enter>
type ipconfig /flushdns <enter>

No, I have not been able to connect since Friday
Already flushed DNS but thanks for the suggestion.
That's the first time it's connected and from the link you posted above
What's happening any ideas?

No idea whatsoever, David, tbh. If you can connect from the hyperlink, it can't be a DNS our routing problem. What happens if, having connected via the link, you then save the page as a favourite/bookmark. Does that work?

OK will try that.
I am going to close every thing down and try restarting and see what happens, will keep you posted.

Hi Everyone

Well knock me down with a feather, I do not understand it but that's the first time I have been able to connect to my website since Friday,
It all seems OK now but will monitor it and if it happens again I will just have to come and click Rik's link

Had you been clicking on a favourite, or had you also tried typing the URL into the browser, David?

If the former, I can only think that the link had become corrupted. If the latter, I can only scratch my head. ;)
