Just a few posts about poor pings from Virgin, Zen, Madasafish and Demon. There may be others but these are all fresh postings. I`m not trying to suggest that it`s OK to have a ping problem because others do, just tellin` it how it is

I reckon some are hops though, still, no smoke without fire

Thats the exact opposite of what we see, if contention at our exchanges was the problem wouldn't it be worse at night when most home users get on-line?

Also in a big isp like ZEN i would expect there to be hundreds of posts not just 2 pages, its the same here there are only a handful reporting the problems , unless we are the only gamers that use the forum i would expect it to be effecting more users.

Maybe MaxDSL works the opposite way around to the ole 2/1/512 fixed

To be honest i wish i had stayed on 2mb it worked great and rarely disconnected and the pings were always low , the problem now is (another snippet from my earlier conversation with Simon and as my memory is sheeite i may get this all wrong) because the exchanges have gone over to max there is no guarantee dropping back to the old 2MB connection would fix the problems.

So as far as pings are concerned we are stuck between a rock and a hard place

I am on 2mb and experiencing these ping problems.
So it's not a adslmax problem.

I also notice not one of those has 100+ms to the gateway  . Most of them just have high pings on certain hops, the zen one seems to be when it leaves the zen network.
