The BT one is the most accurate, but it does take patience during busy times to get it to work. SpeedTest.net and Think Broadband can give wildly variable results.

Simon

The BT one is also the only one that gives your Profile, which is one of the critical pieces of info when resolving connection issues.

The BT one is also said to be the most accurate. If you use other speed testers, there are all kinds of other factors that can impact the result.

Lance

Another vote for BT for accuracy. I think namesco have one which Rik used to say gave quite consistent results. It's probably linked to in the faq!

I use the Namesco test on a "daily" basis; I think it's more consistent than SpeedTest.net. :)

Lance

I can't say i do many speed tests, I can't be bothered when I know my connection is just fantastic and will be fine!

Sometimes I do it to see if my profile has updated after suffering a low sync, which actually doesn't happen anymore with my 2Wire. ;D

Rik

The Namesco one does seem more consistent than most, though not necessarily more accurate. It's a good way of 'testing the water', but I still think the BT tester or a reasonably large file download are the best test.

I said you'd get there, even if it did take many attempts. Well done. :)
