Sure will RiK. Thanks again all.  Will return if it comes back. :)
Got a bit of a problem with Adobe reader now what wont D/L a document fully.
I think that is a NOD setting somewhere. Watch this space for further help required.
Alan

Rik

I can't switch any server setting for that, Alan. ;)

Try using Foxit...it works for me, far better than Adobe ever did.

Oh and it is free.

Thanks In... D/L and it works a treat.. Tried and tested with a large PDF and no problem at all.
With Adobe it was just stalling. Just got some Craft CD's for the Wife which opens
up in PDF.. Cannot believe how much faster it is.
.
Thanks again for all support. At this rate I will be getting more posts than OB. :)

NOD 32 3.0.621... Ah.. Come to think of it you might be correct...  Getting the same on PC and Laptop.
.

.

I'm using NOD32 and have a had a few 500 errors.

Rik

500 errors are different, Malc, they generally indicate the server is running out of memory, and we've got that one covered now. :) (I hope!!)

Malc

I have had it twice since I uploaded that JPeg, but not for a few days

Rik

Let me know if it happens again, Malc, and what you were doing at the time, would you.

Malc

On each occasion it was once I'd pressed POST and the screen waited for about a minute, the the message I sent you came up, I had to close IE7 then go back in again.

All 3 times I've had that message were at home, were I use NOD32.

Rik

Is that v2 or v3 of NOD, Malc? Did you notice how many people were online at the time?

Malc

Don't know the version of NOD ATM, but it's the new 2008 edition, no idea how many people were on line

Rik

So that's v3. I'm wondering if it's causing issues, that's what Alan uses too and he's the only person to have seen his error.

It is at it again both FF and IE. Perhaps it is the NOD after all?

Is it too obvious to suggest turning NOD off, and trying it??

Rik

No, not at all. Would you mind trying that briefly, Alan?

I'll try that as well next time :)

Will do Rik... Bloody thing working OK at the moment again. >:(
Alan

Rik

It's so difficult to track this sort of issue, Alan, when only one person is being affected. I suspect it's something to do with the way NOD is handling the forum cookie, but clearly only in a particular set of circumstances. We'll keep trying though. :)

NOD turned off. Antivirus, Anti Spam and Firewall all disabled. Still the same rejection.

I'm really out of ideas here, Alan. If it was a major forum malfunction, I'd expect to be inundated with reports.

Can you confirm for me please:

Browser(s)
NOD v3
Windows version
How much free memory you have (Ctrl-Alt-Delete will bring up task manager, look on the performance tab)
Router
Wireless or wired connection
Any other apps which are running.

Thanks.

alan

FF 2.0.0.11
IE 7.0.5730.11
NOD V3.0.621.0
XP
ZyXel 660.HW-T1
No other apps running.

Is there any other way I can get to the perf tab.?
When I do Ctrl-Alt-Del it comes up with the apps running but I do not get
any choice along the top to change the way it looks (another blip ongoing).
The only way I can get rid of the the box now is to do a full restart.

This problem is easy to fix, I hope, the Task Manager is running in "tiny footprint mode". To correct this, simply double-click on the border around the window and it will return to its normal state. To place task manager back in "tiny footprint mode" again, double click again on the border around the window.
