All signed up, email sorted, looking with interest at the photo album and the blog.  Migration happens on Friday then I'll be free, free, free of Tiscali forever. ;D

Its sad to see lots of what were once fairly reasonable ISP's swallowed by an unwieldy behemoth like Tiscali (I was initially with LineOne who got eaten up some time ago now), especially when Tiscali goes and bogs down everyone's connection so they can squeeze more people in.

I thought this was an interesting read though:

It's inevitable, given the losses that Tiscali are making, that they are going to try and squeeze every last drop out of their network. :(

Oh well looks as though I missed out on this offer by a week or so.

Great service so far with the speed of the connection.  ;D

Rik

Remind me when you migrated, Jon.

Received the email from IDNet on the 5th of Feburary that my broadband had been activated.

Also the good thing is that my exchange has just been upgraded to Tiscalli LLU so I got out of Pipex just in time.   Phew :-)

Drop IDNet an email, you can only ask. :)

Sent the email and got a quick reply.  I now have a free month.  Thanks James at IDNet and Rik for suggesting I email them ;D

IDNet have a great ethical approach to their customers, I thought they might be sympathetic to you. :)

I would like to see a reward for loyalty - I'm thinking maybe a half price month after 24 months or something like that.  :)

The thing is, once people are here, they don't need incentives to stay.  The excellent quality of the service is enough, and I would just be happy if that was maintained in years to come.  :)

Me too. I don't expect rewards so much as fair treatment, and I've always had that from IDNet.

Not having been here that long, I nevertheless get the impression that the typical IDNet customer is far too discerning to fall for the buy-one, get-one-free type of thing.  Even with the one month free promotion, I was heading this way regardless.

Maybe its because I've been on the receiving end of too many "Tiscali Rewards" emails ("free" gift for your loyalty, but a fiver for P&P ), but at the first sign of Nectar points from IDNet, I'm outta here!  :out:

Too sweet, same here. ;)
Anything and everything that I post on here is purely my opinion, it ain't going to change the world, you are under no obligation to agree with me, it is purely my expressed opinion.

i think we get more than enough "rewards " already , with the good service, excellent backup, from idnet and camaraderie on this forum, anything else would be trying to "gild the lilly"

Rik

You'll find the gilding classes in the Hobbies section, Merlin. ;)
