I would appreciate some help here.

We run with Idnet from 2 separate addresses and have the same problem with both.

If we try www.solwise.co.uk in any browser, it always times out; whilst a tracert works with no problem.

If we use an IP anonymiser http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://www.solwise.co.uk it resolves correctly

We have flushed the DNS cache with ipconfig /dnsflush.

I emailed Idnet CS at lunchtime today and got a reply even though it's Sunday, but Simon can't replicate the problem and is unable to help me.

Anyone have any thoughts on what can be causing this ?

thanks

If you can tracert the domain name (www.solwise.co.uk) successfully, then it's not a DNS problem, it's a possible routing problem, which would also explain why you can get there without a problem using a proxy.  My connection isn't really up to testing for problems at present(!), but I could resolve the domain name without a problem for what that's worth.
