It's about right, Paul. You're just synching high enough to get the 6K profile, throughput is maybe 150-200k below optimum, but nothing significant.

The throughput is a little low, but could be down to exchange congestion. The wireless shouldn't make any difference to the speeds.

The other thing causing the low throughput could be less than optimum MTU/RWIN settings.

MTU on the router is 1500 and on the the pc its set to 1468.. dont have a clue about this laptop and not 2 worried I'm happy with the speed, it beats tiscali, only had about <300k on and 5.5mb connection in the evenings and all day one weekends lol..

When i download from http.. i get about 700k/sec

Did you get 1468 from the ping test (actually it should have been 1440 from the ping test, plus 28 for overheads)?
