Sadly because I suspect they probably know no better, bless 'em. Then again, if they are happy then good luck to them.  :)

True. I just wish that people would take a little time to learn about the tools they use, maybe we wouldn't then be subject to such lousy service by so many. Present ISP excepted, of course. :)

Apathy is the service industry's friend. For all those of us who shop around for utilities, insurances, electronics, etc, there must be many, many more who simply "stick with what they know" because it's easier...

True enough, Simon. Probably made worse by the fact that so many people don't understand the technology of ADSL and, therefore, are not able to make informed choices.
