Hi Folks I need to ask a favour if possible.

I've decided to buy the Dual SSID of this Router.
Could all of you who are running the Dual SSID versions possibly let me know the
1st four Digits of their serial numbers from their Routers.
I need to work out which Manufacturing Dates are suitable for DNS Poisoning as I've read
a lot of the later models are not sutable.

Never heard of any double ssid's that have not worked, I only borrowed one to test it.

Many on here have them, so no doubt someone will be able to help soon.

I'm not sure how they'd cope with September 30, 2007 in four digits...

I was wondering about binary-coded decimal, or even hex, but I don't think there's a way of doing it in four digits. Of course, they may have another encoding altogether...

Mine is 1907.
Found this. Sounds about right

"The first four digits of the serial number usually indicate the manufacture date from my experience of using previous 2Wire routers. The first two digits represent week of manufacture and next two digits representing year of manufacturer. Where the serial number commences with a '9', it should be intepreted as a '0'. eg. 9307 would represent week 3 of 2007."

The ones I have set up include 1207, 1907,2207

We have no problems setting the Dual SSID 2700 HGV to work with IDNet and it appears that the DNS poisoning is unnecessary with the latest software version, the router ignores it's own DNS resolve list when carrying out it's own maintenance

It could be simple, 9607 being day 96 2007, i.e. 6th April, according to my calculations; found one on ebay with serial 2107, using my system that would be 21st January 2007.

I wonder why they don't want to use a leading zero?

That would run into problems at day 100, though, Steve.

Well I was sort of right..

Quite a few have got their 2700's from here;

No reports of any problems.

Rik, surely 3597 would be Christmas Day 2007

. I tend to think that xild has it right, I know that the week of manufacture of Apple computers can be found from the serial number, but not the exact day.

If the numeric scheme is the same as electronic components (IC's etc..) the symbology is "week - year".
So 0407 is the end of January 2007.
