Does anyone know of a Web Page/link/site that shows how to set up a Netgear Router for WiFi Internet Connection. I was talking to a friend today and he was on NTL cable internet connection and he is about to change to a netgear/ internet connection and he was asking how I setup my connection to the internet. I was trying to explain this to him but I said that I would try and get step by step advice and email him the link. Can you help?

Thanks

PS. I don't know what type of Netgear router he has......I only need a general all encompassing instructions (which is idiot proof............no, I'm not saying my friend is an idiot....you know what I mean.......don't you??)

Thanks Rik..........I knew you would come through with something.  :thumb:
That sets up the router (which is great) but do you know or have a site or web link for instructions for plugging in a router to the phone line (with filters) and into the computer via an ethernet cable.. showing step by step diagrams or sketches on how to set up a internet connection (NTL set the cable connection up for him...my friend doesn't know a lot about computers. I was trying to explain this all to him, by showing him my router/computer/wifi/internet connection..........but he just had a glazed look on his face.

This is just for a Netgear cable router, but it should be pretty similar, if not identical.

I have sent him all your links..........so that should sort him out.

Thanks

PS he has just phoned me to say that he has tried to connect to the internet but only one light is showing on the Netgear Router....he thinks the router was damaged in the post, so he is going to buy a new router
