According to the BBC anyway.

"The latest version of web browser Firefox will make changes to the way people search for information online, says its developer.

Mozilla has told the BBC's World Service that the new browser has been designed around the importance of search to users.

Firefox 3, currently going through its third stage of beta testing, will offer a combined search and bookmark tool via the url bar.

It will also allow offline working."

Firefox 3 is very good. I'm not sure if it will change the way I search, but it's certainly got some great features over the previous versions.

Simon

I need it to be compatible with all of my existing add-ons before I switch to it.

Simon, you know you can hack your add ons to be compatible with any version of FF, don't you?

Use winzip to extract the install.rdf file from the .xpi then change the "<em:maxVersion>whatever your version of FF is </em:maxVersion>" line in the install.rdf, add this back into the xpi, re-install the add on and you're good to go.

I use the trunk nightly builds and have to do this from time to time. All good fun...

I've done that with forum software mods, Steve, but hadn't thought of trying it with Firefox.  Thanks for the tip!  :thumb:

Of course if you have "Mr Tech Local Install" add-on then you'd only need to apply it to that and then use it's "make all compatible" option on any others.

:eyebrow: Funny that ....... I've got years of experience (to the umpteenth degree!) - have been too sensible to be a politician - and have been led astray often -
So I ALWAYS get the blame!

;D

You're a man, Mo, of course you get the blame. :)
