If you regrade up/down between any package it is free!




Might try supermax for a month and see how it goes!

What would happen if it upgrading now - payment wise?

Are you sure? Regrading from supermax back down would normally incur the fee??? Payment wise, i would assume it would be pro-rated to your payment period. Best speak to simon d to confirm though.

I asked Simon about this recently and was told a downgrade from SuperMax does incur a fee.

I've checked again, the downgrade from SuperMax does attract a fee.

Just to clarify on this topic,

Officially when changing from the Home PAYG, Home lite and home Max to Home Supermax there is need for BT to regrade the circuit, they therefore charge the ISP for upgrades and downgrades. IDNet have never passed the charge for an upgrade. We have in the past charged for downgrade as a matter of course however more recently as downgrades from Supermax have been infrequent we have been happy to waiver this charge. On occasion where a customer has frequently regraded between packages we have reserved the right to charge the standard fee of £15 for the downgrade.

In conclusion there is a charge for a downgrade from Home supermax however in the interests of good customer service the charge is only applied at our discretion, in the event of this possible charge the matter is discussed fully with the customer directly.

Perhaps another addition to the FAQ? May attract more customers to supermax knowing its not always going to mean a fee downgrading (more monies for idnet)

I'm not willing to put a 'possible maybe' in a FAQ, Sam. If the charge may or may not be applied, it makes it very hard for us to give any advice on the issue, so we'll just be referring people to IDNet to ask from now on.

So did I, Sam, and I'd queried it with Simon. As long as it's discretionary, I'm not going to give people any information, but instead refer them to IDNet, because anything I say has a chance of being wrong (even more so than usual ).

IDNet are actually charged a fee by BT for the move in either direction, Ted. They are choosing to absorb it at the moment, but I'd imagine that would not be the case if people swapped regularly.
