Hi all,

Having just retired  :hehe: I no longer have access to a Fax machine for the odd copy.

My wife needs to send a couple of sheets to a UK Internet provider, who require a fax confirmation to move her domain name.

Does anyone know of any Internet to Fax services that we could use? I guess otherwise we could dig out the old modem or take a ride to the library.

Many thanks,

JB.

Sorry, don't know about faxing, but do you have a scanner? Can you scan it as a Acrobat PDF and email it?

Hope this helps  :)

These services exist, but I think they are all subscription services, which would probably make it an expensive fax. Probably best to dig out the modem. (Are you with Orange for your mobile?)

Many thanks both for the reply.

I am with Orange for a mobile contract but only have/need a basic no frills handset. The firm concerned (UK2.NET) seem to do all they can to make it difficult to move your domain to another provider. They want a faxed letter and some faxed ID such as a driving licence or passport. Funny they didn't want that when she registered the domain with them

I think we will toddle of to the library and fax from there on Monday.

Best regards,

JB.

The reason I mentioned Orange, JB, is that you can register for their Answerfax service to get an incoming fax number if you need one. Faxes then go to your voicemail, and can be printed from there to a number of your choice.

If you want to scan and email to me - I can fax it from here.

That's very kind of you Steve, thank you for the offer.

We popped down to the library today and sent of the docs to UK2.NET. Within 2 hours they had changed the IPS TAG on the domain name to the new ISP and sent an email to confirm it. I guess I might have been a bit unfair in my comments about them.

My wife has now transfered her domain name to the new ISP and email is working via the new system already. Probably just for UK systems until the DNS propagates over a wider area in the next 24 hours or so.

Best regards,

JB.
