I don't get into games, as I find them dangerously addictive, and hours pass like minutes.  I once spent 13 hours solid playing a PC game, and when I got up, my arm had gone totally numb, and I thought I was having a stroke!  Knocked them on the head from that point - now I'm just addicted to bloody forums!  ;D

I havent started playing this. But its one of them mmorpg games. i fear for my social life if I start playing it. Just wondered if anyone here had tried it,

I play games oftern, but I don't agree with mmorpg's as I don't think you should have to pay for the game and monthly fees.

Either one or the other, it can be done - Guild Wars

Must admit I've never played this type of game, because I just know I would get addicted and spend every waking hour playing.

I know people who have though (like WOW), and have gone on "for an hour" in the evening - only to find that the next time they look at their watch is 3 in the morning! ;D

Has anyone seen the South Park episodes about WOW? Well worth searching out

I've played WoW a hell of a lot. I started playing it in the closed beta, then in the public beta and finally when it was released. I've stopped playing it on 3 occasions. Once due to children thinking they can talk down to you over voice com software, because they are "better" than you as they've spent 200 hours more than you have farming the top instances to get the best items. Without the help of these morons you can't complete the instances, so I hit a wall and couldn't go any further in the game. I could have spent hours on end grinding away at quests with a small group, but that is very annoying if you're not on ventrilo with them to direct events.

The second time I quit was because the guild I was in split into two groups, leaving the dedicated (4 hours a night, every night) in the original guild, and all the gobby commander wannabes in the new guild. So again I was forced to hang up my boots with +10 to sulking ;)

I've just given it up again and uninstalled (Side note - how strange, Firefox dictionary has "reinstalled" and "installed", but no "uninstalled" in it's database) the game. Once again it was due to not having a guild to help improve my character. Baring in mind that the last expansion came out and made all the kit people wear, obsolete (I was so amused to see people that spent months grinding for armour having it replaced with low end green kit that is MILES better than their epic stuff) I thought I'd wait for the next expansion to come out, and if the same as last time happens, I'll be able to play single player again.

That's if I can be bothered of course. At the moment I'm trying to fit in some Xbox360 time as I barely use it, and photography is my priority for the coming year.

Looking at my Xfire profile that actually lists my playing time as 230 hours for WoW. Baring in mind that this is over several years. That being said, it's not taking into account about 10 months or more where I never used to use Xfire :D
