I was interested to read here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=756191 that Orange and Virgin are now charging extra for not using direct debit for their broadband services.

Rik

I suspect it's rapidly becoming the norm, Noreen, particularly among large companies. The cost of manual processing is an issue for them.

Can't understand why really when you look at some of their vast profits. They try to put it across as if its for our convenience, when what they really mean is it saves them money.

Indeed Mad, I like the way some of them give a " discount " for using DD, when what they mean is, we are going to charge extra for not using DD.

I would think Orange and the such are running at a massive loss anyway, hence the 18mth lock in on their BB now, at least with a DD you have some come back if they mess up, and they would, in fact they did when I was with them
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
