Gosh, It's made by Microsoft so it can not be any good, let's all use something that  is not by Microsoft because it must be better.  :blah: I like IE7 and have tried the others.  :duck:

There is an element of that, Den, granted.

Do I smell a Microsoft fan boy in you Den? :D

I always find it ironic when people attack others for mentioning something other than IE, which a lot of people use. It's especially ironic when you consider that the platform people are using the software on, is made by the same company.

My example is actually based on at least 5 years experience of using Firefox. Try running IE, and Firefox and see the memory usage difference.

As I mentioned, you add on what you want with Firefox, and don't have to have it all from the start as with IE. This is why I prefer it, as it makes more sense :)

IE is renowned for being a buggy, ill coded and bloated pile of rubbish which is open to far more exploits than Firefox (despite Microsofts very poor and out of date attack on Firefox a while ago, trying to prove the opposite). Sure some people think it looks nice, but personally having basic web building knowledge, I know first hand how badly IE displays websites, and would rather know that a site is looking how the coder intended and if it displays badly, you know they've done a bad job, and who knows, you could even email the web designer to point it out to help!

So, not all people that say a program by Microsoft is bad, are saying it without knowledge.

I guessed, hence the ............................ ;D

It was my first browser too, it's hard to think that it once held over 50% of the browser market.

What is the date of the referendum for England to become an independent country ?

Rik

Didn't want there to be any misunderstandings, Alan. :) Netscape was amazing for it's time, it really set the tone for all that followed. I suppose, in a way, that we should be grafetul to mS, because without them, we'd still be buying browsers.

You probably don't, apparently it's only if you used IE;  another reason not to.

Personally, I use Microsoft Update and love it. Sure, they're probably collecting loads of data about me, but then who isn't these days? It means that my Windows and Office stays up-to-date and I don't have to even think about it. :)
