I didn't know this about the 2700!

It seems to have 2 DSL chips inside! I have just gone onto O2 and am now getting ADSL2+. Previously when looking at the network diagnostics it would show Alcatel as the chip, now it is showing Broadcom for the adsl2!

Clever little box!

Rik

Useful to know, thanks, Mike.

That is interesting, Mike. I must admit that I've always been under the impression that this router used its own chipset (i.e. 2Wire's own), which was why it can be significantly better than other routers.  ???

kinmel

what page shows the chipset?

I can't see any chipset listed anywhere in the menus on mine

Shows Alcatel, which is the DSLAM I am connected to. Not sure of one which shows the internal chip set though.

Curious. I have the same basic stats page, but the vendor is shown...

On the v5 BT firmware, you just get the vendor 'in line' with all the other stats. I do seem to recall though, on the v4 BT firmware, it had the line as in Rik's piccy.

Page J02 gives me the DSLAM, but not the router chipset

DSLAM:     Country: {0xB5} Vendor: {TSTC} Specific: {0x00}

Which is the same info as in my screenshot - though we appear to be in different countries. :)

Do the DSLAMs differentiate between England & Wales

Not England and Wales specifically, but they do differ from exchange to exchange.
