I am sure many of you XP SP2 users will be pleased to know that I have already had my first blue screen of death with vista SP1, plus also a minidump, the less said the better.

Yes. I always find a visit to the bathroom after a BSOD helps, too.

I skipped W2K and went straight from 98SE to XP.

Jumped on the Win2k boat quickly, and thank goodness I did since Windows ME was rather shambles. It's been good. So good in fact, we're only just thinking about buying licenses to upgrade the machines. XP licenses that is. XP has been pretty good since SP2!

The main criticism I level at win2k is the pretty iffy boot time. That and the USB2 support is a little tempramental. Otherwise it is absolutely fine. Caches less agressively than XP perhaps, but has a tiny (comparitively) fresh install.

Ah well, time to upgrade to XP. I'll see you Vista guys in 5 years... maybe.

I always had a soft spot for 2000, but I just found it quite slow, even on a powerful system. XP all the way...

I found this which makes Kaspersky even better value. This is the whole security package Anti Virus,Firewall ect.

Indeed 2000 was one of the first NT code based OSes released for use on normal workstations and was therefore, the first of the more stable OSes. After 95 and 98, this was a real blessing!
