email text disappears

Hi all.
have a peculiar problem with my brother's pc.He has hotmail as his e/m client and on a couple of occasions over the past week the text has completely disappeared from outgoing e/m by the time it has reached the recipient,and that particular recipients addy has also disappeared from his address book

I can only guess at a virus possibly,having said that I know that he is diligent with regularly running AVG.SPYBOT,and ADAWARE.

any ideas anyone?

Which ISP is he on?

If he's using Outlook Express I'd recommend changing over to Thunderbird which is much more secure and reliable. I've never seen it do anything like that.  You can download it from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/

We don't allow Hotmail addresses for the forum, Alan, because of the blank email problem. However, for the contacts list entry to also be deleted, implies a local issue. I've heard of too many misses by AVG to be comfortable, so I would suggest he runs an online scan at one of the major AV companies.

Like Paul, I think a better long-term solution is to move to a more secure client.
