When OE goes to check my free IDNet mailbox, I keep getting the message:
The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that could not be verified.
The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value.

Am I right in assuming that this is not under my control and IDnet simply needs to change some details somewhere?

I'll bounce this to Simon Nerval.

"...He can simply ignore the message - it won't affect TLS operation. Or he can change the name of the server in his settings to match the certificate name = mail.idnet.net.uk"

There you go - don't know what TLS means but the second suggestion makes sense methinks ! What you got in there at the moment.
[edit: TLS = Transport Layer Security Protocol - layer 4 or 5 if I remember my OSI rightly ]

I'd got it set to  pop3.idnet.net  as per the instructions!!!!

I've changed it anyway, and it seems to work OK now thanks.  And the message has gone.
