Well,i just couldn't resist jumping on the 2700 bandwagon. ;D

Bought it off ebay already sbc flashed,i still had to do the factory reset thing to get the ethernet light to come on,i then just entered the details that idnet originally gave me to get online,so all in all a pretty painless experience compared to some routers i have had.

I was hoping to get a little more sync speed, maybe just enough to get me to the next bt profile (i currently have a 2mb profile),but was amazed to see a 1000 inrease in sync :banana2:

stats:

DSL Line (Wire Pair): Line 1 (inner pair)
Protocol: G.DMT Annex A
Downstream Rate: 3584 kbps
Upstream Rate: 448 kbps
Channel: Interleaved
Current Noise Margin: 9.0 dB (Downstream), 21.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 58.2 dB (Downstream), 31.5 dB (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 17.9 dBm (Downstream), 11.9 dBm (Upstream)
DSLAM Vendor Information: Country: {0x0F} Vendor: {ALCB} Specific: {0x00}
PVC Info: 0/38

I hope to continue with these sort of numbers! ;D

Rik

You stats almost exactly match mine, I also gained 1000k. :)

The stats are looking good. The 2Wire does it again. ;D

Glenn

Johnny,

Your stats and sync rate increase mirror mine to within 1Db and a few kbs. If I fit my original router a Netgear D834GT, the sync rate decreases by around 1k.

So it seems we have found the sweet spot for this router to operate in, then!

Rik

The three sets of figures are incredibly similar, Lance, and perhaps show the best of the 2700.

I expected to see an increase, but not 1000k,my sync was bumped up about 400k when i fitted the adsl filtered faceplate just after i joined idnet,so i thought i was almost at the max that my long line would support.

It seems the 2700 has some sort of magical power!

It's just a shame that IDNet are too small for 2wire to want to talk to them  :(

2wire only deal in very large volumes.

That is a shame. It would be good to have some official support, though we do okay ourselves. :)

Rik

It would, Sebby, not to mention not having to work out whether to poison, flash etc etc., but they only ship by the container load, it seems. Simon D was trying to get them to talk to DRG about taking the line as an 'exclusive' for the UK.

Looks like my profile has jumped up a notch. ;D

Download speed : 2.34Mbps

Postcode ResultsYour local exchange is Stanley and the maximum theoretical speed achievable on your line via ADSL Max is 0.98Mb which is 60 percent slower than this test shows you are getting.

Congratulations your internet connection is faster than that which you can achieve using ADSL Max!

:thumb: Another step on the speed-up ladder. ;D

I wonder if i can bust the 3MB barrier.

I've actually managed to complete a bt speedtest. :o

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
    DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)  3616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2608 kbps

Rik

Profile is correct for sync speed, throughput is about right for profile, you might get another 100-150k with some tweaking, but I doubt you'd notice that in every day use. Upstream speed seems slightly low. Is that fries to go? ;D
