I have received a few replies, but I'm still waiting on TPG to explain, could be a while.

I don't think much of Judge, MB. Total waffle - the site is not down, you know it, I know it... :)

Why would TPG want a screenshot?

Do they want to see what browser I'm using, seems odd to me.

I suspect they just don't trust you to get the error message right, MB. A screen shot guarantees it. :(

They want to see the exact error message you are getting, it may help them trace the cause of the problem, the browser would not of concern to them, but it may help them replicate the issue.

I copy and pasted it, including the time thingy at the bottom.

I only learnt how to do screen shot last week, thanks to Michael, children do come in handy at times.

:)

They do. Did he teach you the difference between the active window and the full screen?

I think that's what he was talking about, when they wanted the shot, but I was busy with other stuff. Is that the full screen without the toolbars and such, no.
You want to teach me.

Hi MB

For the entire screen, hit PrtScr then copy into an image-editing program, eg Paint to Photoshop.

For the active window, hit Alt+PrtScr.

:karmic: Rik, I didn't know about the alt bit  :)

Rik

I use it a lot, Malc. Thanks. :)

Now I can hide the things that are running in the bottom right hand corner of the screen ;)

Rik

You could always crop them anyway. :)

I see the difference, what's the advantage of hiding the bottom task bar?
I was more worried about hiding the top one(s).  ;D

There's not necessarily an advantage, MB, it really depends what you want to capture. I use Alt+PrtScr because usually I just want part of the desktop, and that way I put less on the clipboard.

If you've got lots of applications open, you might not want someone else to see. :)

:thumb: That was my point too, like utorrent, eh?  ;)

Sebby

Well, you could be using uTorrent for legitimate reasons; lots of applications are available via BitTorrent - OpenOffice, Ubuntu, etc. I was thinking more along the lines of emails or other websites that you visit. :)

Oh, you, of course, I forgot that.

That's your guilty conscience working overtime Malc  ;)

I note at the end of that thread, it seems to be emerging that the site may have been blacklisted by your ISP, MB.  I guess there's not a lot you can do about that, apart from change ISP, unless they can be persuaded to remove the blacklist entry.  I haven't come across anything on the pics site that I would consider to be inappropriate.
