I was looking at smilies online last night and went to SmileyCentral, I clicked to see the smilies and NOD32 immediately jumped in saying that 2 variants of Win32/AdInstaller had been detected and quarantined, it then terminated the installation of whatever. So I now have these two items in Quarantine, can I just delete them now? NOD32 asked that they be sent to ESET which I have done.

Rik

Yes, just delete them. :)

Rik, sometime in the past you recommended a smilie site which you said was safe, can you remember what it was? I lost all my favorites in my recent disaster and can't remember what it was..

Also I use the search bar on photobucket, with the word smilie after what you're looking for  :thumb:

i used to use smiley central, and every time i did a scan with "search and destroy" ,it always said there were "two somethings" the names of which i can,t remember , had been detected, which i would always delete,

after awhile i did'nt bother to delete them, because i came to the conclusion that , smiley central must have a couple of files which are seen as "false positives" by detector programs.

and even though i stopped deleting them ,i had no ill effects

think its just another wonder and mystery of computers !! :comp:

I looked at the NOD32 forum and searched for the items named and they stated that they are NOT false positives. This was the first time that I'd ever seen NOD32 in actual action so I was rather pleased to see it.
