Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
    DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)  8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)

And of course to demonstrate the sorts of speeds you will get with those stats Jane.  ;)

seeing as you obviously hate me (postin stats like that) have a karma.

you have more than me already must be a female thing (or people dont like me)

in that case i like danni coz shes honest so you have 1 2

I'm honest too! :fingers:  Just for that:----

today's test
Date 09/04/08 16:42:04
Speed Down 5254.42 Kbps ( 5.1 Mbps )
Speed Up 378.44 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )
Port 8095
Server speedtest1.adslguide.org.uk

Looks like the line has started to find its feet so to speak. That's more or less in accordance with what has been quoted for my line

Jill has already asked me to keep you lot in line when she's away. I am beginning to see why  ;D

Rik

Hi Jane

Have you tried a BT test? That will confirm the profile, which has clearly risen already. :)

Dare I? It upset someone last time. Nah, why not.....

If ya got it, flaunt it

Jane

Rik

Looking good, Jane, your line is set to go flat out. Your throughput is a bit low for the profile. That could be exchange congestion, background activity, eg email, or a need to tweak. Are your running XP?

It could be exchange congestion considering the time of day. No email unless Mailwasher was making a background check at the time.
I have Vista on this machine so no good tweaking MTUs.
Router displaying
Wed 09 Apr 2008  17:38:18    Rx-Noise= 8   Tx-Noise= 26   Rx-Sync= 8128   Tx-Sync= 448

I'm happy as it is and it's still training (isn't it?) but if you do have any ideas I will try them.
Before you ask I only have one telephone and the old type BT box but I have just got a new adslnation filter.

Round here, Jane, it's probably better to qualify a remark like that.  >:D

I think just let your line settle is the best advice at the moment. It's doing a lot better than mine iac. ;)

I know. That's why I didn't  >:D
Seriously, I have noticed that you do have to be very careful what you say, or don't say even. Some people make up their own versions regardless.
I can do that........

and thanks again

I'm not worried. A lot better than the dreaded Tiscali whatever happens and a lot better than I would have expected for Cornwall. We don't get much of anything down here........oops! I did it again didn't I?
