I have CCleaner set to save cookies from my fave sites so i don't need to log in every time i use CCleaner.
I now use IE7 and found CCleaner deletes the cookies even though i have it set to ignore them.

Heres a temp fix if you are having the same problem.

Open cr*p Cleaner > click on 'cleaner' > then under 'Internet Explorer' untick the 'delete index.dat files' entry.

FWIW, I use Webroot's Window Washer, which seems to handle things better, only it's a tad more expensive than free.  :(

I have moved onto Opera and will not be using IE again unless forced to . best move i ever made  ;)

I guess Bill will still force you to use IE for updates though?

Yep thats the "unless forced to" bit  :D

I'm not knocking IE7 i think its good and always said i would use it as soon as it went public, the problem is like most people i thought they would have it sorted before release but  it was released full of holes. :(

I was advised to try Opera (i have tried firefox but cannot seem to get on with it and always went back to IE6)  and it really is good ,the "wand" is the best thing i have seen in a browse, you can  skin it , add widgets and loads more if you want to customise it to your own tastes.

It's nice to meet someone else who doesn't get on with FireFox, I was beginning to feel like I was a heretic.  :) I didn't get on with Thunderbird either, and like you I was seeing IE7 as a way forward till I discovered it was still something of seive! Opera is on my list of things to try, just as soon as I get an overheating problem sorted out with my desktop machine. The problem is I've discovered my 'on-site' warranty means "if it suits us" so I've got a lot of backing up to do, and making sure the notebook is bang up to date before I send it in. The real annoyance is that all the printers bar one 'hang off' the desktop, so I'll be limited for as long as it takes, which they won't give me a time for.

I just have a feeling they'll restore the HD to factory condition to spite me.  :(

You've noticed that too? Time was I could find a system builder who had no problems doing what I wanted, but these days...  >:(
