A faceplate is still a filter, and therefore it can go there!

seriously can you rip it apart and post a photo? or put another way does it look like one of these inside?

Haven't a clue, Dean, it's screwed to the wall, plus, it's in an awkward position and I've lost my left handed screwdriver.  ;)

alternatively get hammer and smack it till it comes off.

I've just checked the Solwise site and they sell the same BT faceplate as Clarity, so hopefully that puts an end to any confusion. :)
