It just wants to compress your emails, why not let do so. I do.

See #2 here. :thumb:

But, you should consider letting it compact your messages. :)

Quote from that Microsoft page - When a message is deleted, moved or marked as read in an OE message file (dbx), then wasted space is generated in that file

Any other company would fix the problem and not add the wasted space when handling the file, Microsoft prefer to add another layer that is also badly implemented.

If anyone uses Hotmail via Outlook Express, as I do,  the service is to cease on June 30th, to be replaced with Windows Live Mail.. >:(

On the basis that if it ain't broke, Windows will fix it. ???

my emails are not worth saving, so i delete them every day, and empty deleted email folder.

most of my children and adult grandchildren ,are abroad , and the usual messages are something like, " having a wonderful time running short of money ,please send more, love xxxxx"

my reply is " too bad ,your dad xxxxx"

so why keep them ????

I really don't like Windows Live mail, tried it, nope any email client that has to sign in to the msn server is not going on my pc, also I keep my Hotmail contacts separate from my windows mail contacts which are businesss and personal, Hotmail is only for my windows live messenger peeps (windows mail in Vista does not support hotmail anyway) Live mail mixes them all up which I do not want or need :rant2: why cant they just leave it all alone, I just access the web interface for hotmail, its not bad for a web app. I like the windows mail app as it is, great search and a good calender as well, all missing in windows dead mail >:D
Damned, if you do damned if you don't
