Interesting article here for Vista peeps

It's a good article, I've just had a proper read. I can't help but feel that, like a lot of these Vista guides, the information is quite generic and will only help boost performance if something is very wrong. The only thing it doesn't mention is the famous ReadyBoost, which is as good as useless! I know for a fact that none of the issues mentioned in the article existed on my installation, yet the performance was unacceptable.

I'm more than willing to give Vista another go. After all, XP feels quite basic in comparison. But I just don't believe that it'll ever run at a speed that I consider to be good for my system.

That's a pity Sebby. There are obviously some of us on here that are very happy with Vista and have no speed issues at all. I suppose it could be that some hoobs are more easily pleased than others, but I can honestly say that Vista on both my PCs (lappy and desktop) runs fine - just as quick, if not quicker, as XP ever did on my last desktop.

I'm one of those happy users! My laptop runs Vista quicker than my desktop runs XP, and that is not because my desktop is slow!

I'm in the same boat. After some initial teething problems i do think its running faster than my old XP set-up.

After installing a load of driver updates (I go through and update everything I can every couple of months), I've just been offered the Vista SP1 via auto update.

My new laptop came with Ultimate Vista SP1 already installed and although I haven't another computer with which to compare it, it seems to me to really whizz along.
