I usually use Mozilla, but just now I was checking something via IE and under 'tools' clicked 'full screen'.  This means that the IE toolbar disappeared, so that the page I was viewing took up the whole screen, which is what I expected. The problem is I can't figure out how to change it back, since the toolbar has disappeared.  I tried right-clicking to see what kind of menu came up, but it didn't offer a solution.  Can any of you?

Thanks for the suggestion, Rik, but unfortunately that doesn't work - I've got a Logitech keyboard, and when I hit F11 it brings up 'My pictures'. :(

Had a second thought - I hit F lock and then F11, and it worked!  Thanks very much!

Go into tools and untick full screen that should bring it back to normal

Thanks, but the point is that I could no longer go into tools, as the full screen made all the tool bars disappear.  Rik's F11 trick worked, once I figured out how to disable the built-in Logitech short-cut to My Pictures.

Pressing esc will also work

Many thanks to all of you for those useful tips, which I am sure will come to my rescue in similar situations - but what's FF, Sebby?

And there I was thinking it was some mysterious computer command - thanks, Lona!

Rik

It is mysterious, Krysia - but you get used to it. ;)

Another annoyance with IE7 is that the Menu bar isn't at the top.  Here's how to move it:

Always back up your registry before making changes.

1. Close IE7 then go to Start > Run > regedit.

2. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser.

3. Highlight the "WebBrowser" folder, then in the right pane, right click > New > DWORD Value.

4. Where is says "New Value #1" rename it to "ITBar7Position"

5. Right click the new key, select Modify, and in the box where it says "0" change it to "1"

I believe that you can also just press the Alt key to display it temporarily. Same applies in Vista.

That's true, Lance, but I think the registry tweak is to physically move it to the top of the window, as it's possible to display it via Tools > Menu bar. :)

Lance

I can't see why anybody would want it permanently there though. It's just taking up valuable web page space as far as I am concerned!!!

Yes, with the reg tweak, it appears at the top of the page, like IE6, and most other browsers.

I just got used to it not being there (when I used to use IE7, that was). It's not really needed a great deal; IE7 was designed to run without it. :)

I wish my car was designed to run without fuel. ;D :out:
