Hi,

im going to be moving house shortly, the people in the house i am going to be moving into have their broadband with Toucan and will presumably cancel or transfer their service to their new house.  When i move in will i still need a MAC code to allow IDNet broadband to be set-up, or will this be like a blank start as the previous provider service will no longer be present?

thanks,
Nath

Rik

Hi Nath, welcome to the forum. :) :welc: :karma:

Unfortunately, this will be considered a fresh start by BT, so you'll incur their 'new line' charge of up to £125 (it should be free though) and a new broadband charge of £47. :(

Hi Nath, and  :welc:

Just a thought, but if the present occupiers are leaving their phone number, wouldn't it be a simple migration from Toucan to IDNet?

No, because Nath isn't the contract holder with Toucan and the phone number is not in his name. Changing the name on a line generates an automatic cease on ADSL, sadly. :(

Ah, OK.  In which case, the easiest way to get out of a Pipex contract, is to move house!

Expensive but totally effective. Cheaper is to change the name on the phone bill with BT.
