latest from my ISP is.....Openreach state they have cleared the fault last night after proving it to be with carrier provider (BT''s) kit..........

have they admitted to a fault

and I got this result earlier

so hopefully its on the mend. only been like that since May........up and down.....well what do they think I expect, am I asking too much BT

Just used BT Speedtester, no problem, the whole process took 2 minutes, lucky or what?

well youve hit the nail so to speak Rik, updated Java last week and it seems that its that that caused the fault. went into the Java console and deleted the applet for BT tester, closed IE, re-started and tried again and it worked.

ps..bad news is on getting the tester to work I got a bad throughput result from it
