A little while ago someone posted a link here to techsupportalert.com (Gizmo's site - the link was freeware apps).

Just to let you know, I was so impressed by the site - and subscribed. Then a plea came for category editors for their new Wiki. I threw my hat in the ring, and have been accepted. Not sure what I'll get yet (though I expect to find out later this week), so since IDNetters is responsible for my being there - I expect to see some visitors from here when I go live :)

Good for you, Steve. I'll be sure to visit. ;)

Rik

Keep us posted and we'll be there. Can we get your autograph now, before you become too famous. ;)

OK - I just got the confirmation email. My category should help keep my PC nice and safe...

"Best Free Adware/Spyware/Scumware Remover"

Now I have a couple of hoops to jump through to actually get established on the site (which I'll do later), then I'll invite you all around to - ermm - start with whatever it is precisely that I do  ;D

Doing things a little differently. It's bring two bottles - one for you, and one for me ;)

OK - I've been doing a little housecleaning around my category, and made my first significant revisions tonight, so it's time to let you know where it is :)

Very good, Steve, an interesting read, especially for someone like me who is very much out of touch with anti-spyware software. :thumb:

Well, my next job is to create a sandbox and start trying some of the new kids on the block. SuperAntiSpyware seems to have a good following, and so may be a good place to start.

It seems my predecessors followed the rules and made minor adjustments. I think, given that they have, I'll dive in with a complete rewrite in the next few weeks. I'm working on the best way to do this effectively, without exposing myself to unnecessary risk. My instinct says use VirtualBox, but if anyone here has other ideas, I'd be interested.

I was going to say something like Virtual PC. :)
