UK's broadband speeds divide

The UK is a nation divided by the speeds at which it can go online, a survey compiled for the BBC suggests.

Very interesting. However, given that this is about the technology, rather than ISPs, it's a shame that the data they've obtained will be skewed by issues with many users' setup and the ISPs they are with. That said, getting a true picture of the possible speeds would be quite difficult. What we really need to know is how many people have broadband, and how far each of those are from the exchange; and therefore what is the average sync that these users should achieve. That would be more representative than speed test results.
