Hi all, I have just got my MAC code from F2S after waiting 2 weeks, i had to phone again to see where it was then! IDNet is top of my list with the Homemax package. I currently get a speed of between 5 and 5.6 mbps with F2s until the evening when it really drops off and sometimes gets down to 1.4mbps which is unacceptable. F2s will not do anything and simply state that it's within BT's fault tolerance. Maybe if they told me to leave my modem/router on for the 10 day training period i would'nt have a profile so low, 2272/1590. They are simply not interested and do not respond to emails.

1. If i join IDnet will i be able to get my Bras profile reset and do a new 10 day training period?
2. F2S for some reason have stuck me on interleaving from fast. Pings have now jumped from around 35 to 70+ up to over 100. Would they also reset me back to fast? I had no sync problems before and was synced at 448/8128 and still am.
3. With this no contention claim, does this mean that my speeds will not drop off in the evenings due to everyone else being on the net?
4. Is this high ping business still ongoing or is it resolved now? I am looking at venturing into online gaming.

I understand support is excellent with IDNet and that they deliver a good service which is why they are top of the list.

1. I believe that your profile changes over time. i think after 3 days of no disconnections it will increase (although i might be wrong)

2. It is BT which decide on interleaving - not the ISP. The default setting is Auto and during the 10 day period BT's equipment decides whether or not to turn on interleaving. In my case it decided i needed it but i phoned up CS and 2 hours later it was turned off!

3. With Max there is no set contention like 'old' adsl (ie 50:1 or 20:1). Basically its all in and your speed may drop although it should drop by much.

4. As far as i know the issues have all been resolved apart from for one or two people.

hope this helps  :banana2:

Hi again, sounds good to me. The only thing is i think my bras profile is stuck as i left my modem/router on permanently and it did'nt update. I did try (several times) to get F2S to do something about it but they just don't give a damn about their customers anymore and tech support never respond to email tickets. The only other option is a 0870 telephone number that leaves you on hold for ages only to get cut off. This is why i am leaving. As i now have my MAC code i am just about to sign up with IDNet. I have heard good things about them and hardly any bad things, apart from the ping issue, but as that appears to be sorted now i am not going to hesitate any longer.

Many thanks for your replies.
