That's true - too late for us all :bawl:

It's not too late, I've only just had lunch. ;)

There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I'm going to hold off.  I have been burned too many times with having to wait until my favourite plugins get updated for the new version.   :-\

That's not my experience; it's been great since the first beta for me. :)

Baz

is this also linked to the world record attempt for  downloads in a day thing we had  posted a while back

I hope they've got enough server power to deliver it!

It would be ironic if they couldn't cope when they are the ones who have encouraged it!

Mine is on Linux so i can't compare it to Windows on this machine. It has a real problem with online media, video and such like. Just shuts down instantly with no warning :eek4: It also seems to have a problem with refreshing some web pages, same problem. Its not just a one off, i can reproduce it again and again.
Absolutely no problem with 2xxx. I made a bug report to Mozilla, lets hope it comes out in the wash ;D

Ah, well I'd blame Linux in that case. :out:

Dangerjunkie

I've been running FF3 Beta 5 and now FF3.0 on Linux and 3B5 on Windows for over a month now and I've had no problems at all. This tends to suggest it may be something to do with a library or DLL otherwise we would all be affected the same.

Cheers,
Paul.

Sebby

Out of interest, how come you've avoided the RCs?

This is 3.0rc2, could be a library or some such but it would have to be one that 2xxx doesn't need because that works fine.
I'll wait and see what the full release is like, if it still needs fixing i'll get on it then

To be honest I probably didn't. I installed the Ubuntu Hardy supplied 3B5 and it's gone through a number of automatic updates since then. The current version says it is 3.0 (The Beta tag is gone and there is no mention of  RC) if I do help>about. If I look at the package manager it is declared as version: 3.0+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1 whatever exactly that is...

Cheers,
Paul.

Sebby

I'm running RC2 on Windows and the about information also doesn't mention RC, so I suspect you're right. :)

Lona

What is RC?

Only thing I can think si Roman Catholic but I'm sure it's not that. :)

RC is Release Candidate. When a piece of software is at this stage, it signifies that it's got the potential to be a final product, and will be unless any major bugs are found. :)

D-Dan

I got my email reminder to D/L teh final version on 17th earlier today. So, I guess since they know where I am, I better do so - at precisely Midnight following the end of 16th :)
Have I lost my way?

I got it too. Unfortunately, I won't be able to download it on Tuesday!

scook94

It won't be released until 10:00 PDT which I think is 7 hours behind us, so not out until 5pm?
