Hopefully things should start being updated officially now. :)

Mozilla have made themselves look really silly. If they'1e going to do something like this, at least have enough capacity in place.
Have to agree with you there sebby, had a few crashes but I do like it compared with FF2 ;D

I created a new profile as I had some issues with the update process, seems ok for now :thumb:

Just curious, how many have a green "forward" and "back" button and how many have blue?

My Vista PC has the blue buttons, but my XP laptop has green....

The Firefox 3 installed with Hardy Heron (that had updates this morning) has green. I'll check my downloaded one (it's downloading fine now if anyone wants to get it- the Americans are mostly asleep!).

Green on my downloaded version too. Shame- I prefer blue (and it fits better with my purple theme :P).

Danni, I'm wondering if it's OS related, are you using XP or Vista?

It probably is OS-related. I know of other apps that are certainly affected. :)

Downloaded and installed.  My usual extensions and themes don't work however, but that's no big deal.

Found and installed a theme I like, "Aero Silver Fox Basic".  That'll do untill more themes become available.  I like the most visited folder and the one click bookmarks.

Overall so far very nice.

Gary

Well I removed FF3 today after a flourish of DEP pop ups and a bunch of crashes, that's on a clean profile, I'll wait as while to see how it goes, for now FF2 will suffice

I'm running Vista and my bottons are blue.  I have the jumbo theme and it's great I can read everything without my glasses.  :D

depends on which ones you have, some will work some won't. In most cases it's only because the add-on has it's maxversion limited to FF2.

You can install Mr Tech Local install from here (I modified it to install under FF3)
http://scook94.www.idnet.com/mr_tech_local_install.xpi

Once it's installed go to the add-ons under Tools and when the window appears click Tools -> Make all compatible
Restart FF3 and all your add-ons should be okay, mine certainly are using this method.

Just posted in the Opera thread using Opera 9.5 and am now posting this using Firefox 3.

No real problems in either except that my preferred theme (Orbit) isn't yet available for Firefox 3 and NoScript doesn't work yet.

I can live with that as everything else seems to be working normally.

That's strange, Drummer, it is working OK for me, which version of NoScript are you using? I am using version 1.6.9.3 it updated to this when I installed FF3.  :)

Who knows what they might have achieved if they'd put the server resources in before launch?

That's quite an achievement. As you say, Rik, it would be interesting to know how many downloads they lost as a result of not having the resources in place.

Oops...

Firefox just needed to be restarted.  And it's version 1.6.9.3 here too.

I think I read on one of the Mozilla forums that the autoupdater won't work for a few days yet. If you want FF3 try downloading from the link http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?p=downloadday

Oops I forgot about this post. I actually went and tried the site itself just after posting and it updated fine. I went to bed and forgot to mention it :D

Only thing I've noticed is there is no padlock showing when are paying for stuff or in your internet bank.

I'm sure there was a padlock on older version.

I'd be more than a bit uncomfortable about that - does the address bar go yellow?

Just checked on Paypal.com using FF3 and the padlock was there on the status bar, bottom , right hand corner.
