Thanks for the warning, Ray. Comodo usually get things right, it's a shame. :(

I don't know if anyone else has a Dell machine but I recently decided to check for updates on Windows which went okay but as I had logged in with my admin account I got a notification from Dell that there was a new version of their update utility available and that support for the one I was currently using would be discontinued.

I therefore loaded the new version and it did a few checks and then produced a list of things that it said required updating. Included in this list was the driver for the Intel Pro Wireless card. After installing the update I could no longer connect to any networks and was only able to resolve the problem by removing the Intel Pro wireless utility completely and re-installing a previous version which I fortunately was able to find.

Rik

Don't you just love it when they fix things that aren't broken.  >:(

True, Rik, they usually do though looking at the Comodo forums there seems to be a few people getting this problem looks like they may have a bug in it.  :o

It was just like going back to the days of Windows 3.1 when it ran out of memory with everything frozen and half drawn windows.  ::)

RouterStats has been updated to v 2.8f.

The update fixes a problem with graphs being captured every minute after the first full page, and adds the option to capture the part page graph on closing the program.

I have 1day left of a trial of Nod32 AV.  So it's make mind up time!!

One thing I find confusing, is that when I scan I get a couple of dozen files (mostly system files), marked something like;  'unable to check - access denied (4)'.

At the end they define (4) as; 'file in use by other app' or system.
As that is not a bad thing I have ignored it.  But is it normal??

I have been waiting for Comodo to accommodate Vista with it's AV, but after seeing Riks warning re' the Firewall it looks like it's going to be Nod32.

I am also trying to decide if the Security Suite is worth getting for Vista.
At the moment I feel Vista is pretty secure with Windows Firewall - Windows Defender - UAC - and the router firewall.

Advice appreciated.  :)

It's totally normal, Mo, it will include things like the swap file, and NTFS 'internal' files.

I can't give you an opinion on the security suite as I haven't tried it, but NOD is the best AV I have used in the past 20 years.

Thanks Rik - think I will stick with just the Nod32 AV.  ;D

Tell me about it Rik,  :D it runs very smoothly thus far, but I have seen issues reported about installation on Vista, it seems to take a fair while for some reason.

I'm still downloading. I opened GE to do the update check and discovered they have updated the photos of this area too. Looks like they were taken in Mar/Apl this year, the detail is incredible!
