Actually, I completely forgot it this month. Most unusual...  :hairpull:

Which free one would you recomend?

I've always been scared of them, since zone alarm buggered up my latst PC and I had to reformat it.

I use Comodo Malc, I had the same problem with ZA, ...  Comodo is free and idiot proof, it needs to be. ;)

A commode may be more appropriate for you Malc. ;D

Noreen

I have Windows Update set up to tell me when updates are available and then I update when and what I choose. Don't really like stuff being installed without my permission, that is except NOD32.

Incidentally I'm still using Windows firewall too, have yet to install Comodo (latest version), just can't cope with any more just at the moment. :stars: Isn't the Windows firewall good enough when you're using a router?

BTW my spellchecker always suggests that I replace Comodo with commode ;D

Rik

If you're careful in your online habits, Noreen, the Windows firewall is good enough. The router firewall does the important job of keeping stuff out.

Strange things, spell checkers. ;D

Installed Comando, after loads of 'learning' and hundreds of questions, what to allow, it seems to have settle overnight.

Looks like good stuff  :thumb:

Rik

Did you mean Comodo, Malc, or are we on to a different app?

I hope he means Comodo Rik, he could end up with his comp destroyed by a Comando. ;D

I'm starting to wonder if windows update works. You always see people posting that they've got the updates, but I've seen about 5 updates since installing Vista (after the initial install and huge bundle of patches over the first couple of months), and this announcement about 5 updates makes me wonder.

I saw one update, and it was a nothing update that I could have done without. There was actually another, but that was based on the program I installed to calibrate my monitor that causes the system to BSOD, so needless to say I won't be using that :D

Anyway, none of the updates were related to what this patch Tuesday was about. I don't have automatic updates installed (nothing worse than having what you're doing interrupted by lagging systems), so I'd love to know where this update is, if it was released on Tuesday.
