Thanks, Gary. This is always quite an important one to update as it's usually a security issue.

Gary

Indeed it is, I bet we have a Flash player update soon, they always seem to go in pairs ::) joy

It always does now Rik, something to watch out for, god knows why they offer it but you know it would be hell to get rid of and cause conflicts I'm sure :(

I can imagine that many people don't notice and untick the option. It's another case where things should be opt in, not opt out.  :(

I agree completely Rik, the number of computers I have seen with more toolbars than real estate on the screen because they did not untick a box during download is scary. I have a sneaky suspicion its done so we don't notice Rik and the money in packing these extras in is what is behind it all anyway.

I noticed that Sue had accepted an update, probably Java, and gained a Yahoo toolbar. I must improve my training sessions. :)

I spotted a Yahoo toolbar on something the other day that I would have installed with a standard install...grrrrr.

No, :eek4: but O'Leary has always had problems at Stansted, I am not sure why he has remained based there.

Perhaps he'd be happier at Birmingham.

These installers should not have options ticked. Again, we're seeing a trend of having to opt out rather than opt in, which makes no sense at all.

Rik

It does to the software houses, Sebby. It's like call centres, the customers hate them, the companies know that, but the bottom line is all that matters to them.

Same thing as you say Rik, you have to remember to say DO NOT share my information with some call centres and most people will forget unless they say it at the beginning, but being put on hold makes you brain dead anyway so you still forget, all business psychology at a low level is at play, and we should be as you say, opt in for all these services, no wonder people get so much junk email and paperwork through the door
