No problem with nod/ESS and vista Home Premium SP1 here, and the bug was "Fixed tasks scheduled to be run after a successful update" :) that bug sound, was it reboot blank screen and no bluescreen? if so that cold be a ram issue, i had that problem runnning memtest showed bad ddr3 ram since replacing it no issue like that has come back

Thanks Gary, that could have been the bug concerned.  It usually happened within 5 minutes of start-up (and updating Nod).

No, sequence was blue-screen just flashed on/off, then rebooted.

I will give it time, to make sure it's now OK, then may try Nod again.

I only had the sending of statistical information failing with NOD but that works again now, always worth doing a memtest just in case but if avg works well don't fix what is not broken ;)

I don't think it's NOD that's the problem, Mo. :out:

Gary

Well its not Vista, Sebby ;)

Well, all I know is that since I uninstalled Nod it hasn't done it!

I spent all day yesterday on XP (which uses AVG), with no problem.

But as I had paid for it  ::) ...... today I downloaded the new 669 version of Nod, and re-installed it in Vista.

So far - so good .................  :fingers:

I will keep an open mind (not difficult!) about Vista, Seb'.  But I must say, I haven't had the problem in XP (AVG).

Glad to hear you've (potentially) sorted it. :)

iTunes 7.7 released, I believe mainly to add support for the iPhone 3G and its software's new features. It's only 56MB. ;D

Mozilla has issued an update for Firefox 2, recommending all Firefox 2 users install it immediately to ensure their security.

Firefox 2.0.0.16 contains a number of changes to improve security and stability including command-line URLs launching multiple tabs when Firefox was not actually running.

The company warned that support for Firefox 2 would not be carried through into 2009 and urged surfers to upgrade to its new browser.

"Firefox 2.0.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until mid-December, 2008. All users are encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 3," the company said on its blog.

No, but it would have taken Microsoft months to provide the same fix for IE.  :)
